| Geoffrey Silagy Consultant & Trainer Maura Fay Workshops Geoff’s varied experience base as an actor, trainer, journalist and international radio broadcaster allows him to relate easily to program participants in settings from the boardroom to the tea room. Geoff has one of the most multi-faceted backgrounds of any of our trainers. His knowledge, energy and enthusiasm have seen him deliver workshops from across the full range of the Maura Fay Workshops syllabus with superb results. A professional actor and trainer, Geoff’s varied career background has also included being a journalist and overseas radio correspondent for Australian stations 3AW and 3LO. This broad experience base makes it easy for him to relate to a wide range of program participants, in any setting from the boardroom to the tea room. Geoff has worked with a wide range of Australian and multinational organisations, including KPMG, SMS Consulting, Telstra, ANZ Bank, Australia Post, the Australian Federal Police and Transurban. Geoff is a graduate of both the University of Melbourne and the prestigious Lee Strasberg Theatre Institue in New York City. His acting credits are equally impressive, with television appearances in well known Australian dramas Carson’s Law, Prisoner and Home. He also lived in New York City for 15 years, during which time he acted in a variety of classical and contemporary works and was a founding member of an off-Broadway theatre company. Geoff lives in Melbourne with his wife Deborah, a lawyer, and their two children. A fluent French speaker, he dreams of one day dividing his time between Melbourne and a village in the south west of France. Having lived his first dream of living in New York City, it’s surely only a matter of time before he dons a beret and starts looking at real estate somewhere near Biarritz.
